Requirements for School Employees:
Background checks must be processed under EMPLOYMENT and must be completed BEFORE starting as an employee.
- PA State Police Criminal History Check (Please pick “Employment” for Purpose of Request)
- PA Child Abuse History Certification (Please pick option that starts with ” Individual 14 years of age or older who is applying for or holding a paid position as an employee with a program, activity or service, as a person responsible for the child’s welfare or having direct contact with children…”)
- FBI Federal Check with Fingerprinting SERVICE CODE: 1KG6TR
- Signed Code of Pastoral Conduct or Signed Code of Pastoral Conduct in Spanish
- Safe Environment Training
- Act 24 Report and Certification Form
- Act 168 Disclosure Release (Please fill out an Act 168 for every former employer where you had direct contact with children. Leave Section 2 blank and return the forms to the Safe Environment Office. We will reach out to your former employers to have them complete Section 2).
- “Save a Life: Recognizing & Responding to Anaphylaxis” Training through FARE ENGLISH SPANISH (must be completed every year)
In addition to above, Paid Coaches require (renewed annually):
- Certificate of Completion for Concussion Awareness (must be completed every year)
- Sudden Cardiac Arrest Form (must be completed every year)
Background Checks are valid for FIVE (5) years.
Safe Environment Continued Training is completed on your online VIRTUS account annually in May.
New Teacher Hires:
The following must be submitted to the Catholic Schools Office:
- Application for Teaching Position
- Resume
- Academic Records (originals – college and graduate levels only)
- Two letters of reference and one letter from the pastor
- Pennsylvania State Certification(s) (originals must be presented at interview, copies may be submitted)
