Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton
provides food assistance through Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen
and numerous food pantries located in northeastern Pennsylvania
Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton operates Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen in Wilkes-Barre and several food pantries across northeastern Pennsylvania. Our food assistance programs help tens of thousands of individuals, households and seniors on a yearly basis and the need continues to rise.
Catholic Social Services food pantries are a safety net to families with limited resources who search for the everyday means of sustenance – food. In our kitchen and food pantries, we attempt to provide a balanced selection of nutritious food options.
The services offered through Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton are available to all, regardless of religious denomination, race, gender or immigration status. There are no fees to receive assistance from our kitchen or food pantries.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, all food pantries remain operational at this time. To help contain the spread of COVID-19, clients may be served outside of our buildings as conditions warrant. The dining room of Saint Vincent de Paul Kitchen remains closed at this time but meals are still being served in take-out containers. When visiting any Catholic Social Services kitchen or pantry, we ask that all clients wear properly fitting face masks and maintain proper six foot physical distancing.
