The Office for Parish Life is excited to announce that Genesis Mission is coming to the Diocese of Scranton in August!

International Co-Founders Father Jon Bielawski and Michele Thompson will lead the workshops which will outline for participants how to confidently evangelize in their everyday lives through simple relational methods of meaningful conversations. This area impacts adult formation in evangelization and growth in discipleship.

Through further experiential learning, participants will master simple, relational and loving methods of explicitly sharing the Gospel in ways that are sensitive and appropriate to the lifestyle and culture of those around them. They will become aware of opportunities for encounter, always seeking to shine the light of the Gospel into the darkness, bringing hope and meaning in the everyday situations of those whom they meet. The Genesis Mission will strengthen their daily commitment to know, live and share our Catholic faith through encounter with the person of Jesus Christ.

All are welcome and encouraged to attend, especially pastors/administrators/parish life coordinators, catechetical leaders, pastoral council members, ministry leaders and staff.

Dates/Locations of the workshops:

  • Thursday, August 8 – Saint Lawrence Church, South Williamsport
  • Friday, August 9 – Diocesan Pastoral Center, Scranton
  • Saturday, August 10 – Diocesan Pastoral Center, Scranton

All workshops will be held 9AM-3PM, with an optional opportunity to attend Mass after the workshop.

Registration is $30 and includes continental breakfast and lunch.

Following these workshops, participants will have the opportunity to continue the Genesis Mission journey through a 6-week course of study that will equip them to use this practical down-to-earth approach.
