Life in the Spirit Experience – Looking to commit or recommit your life to Jesus Christ? The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is partnering with the Oblates of St. Joseph and the Diocesan Vocations Office to help you deepen your intimacy with the Lord, find rest in community, and embolden you to share the Gospel with all people – all while walking in the power of the Holy Spirit, given to us at Baptism and Confirmation. This retreat is FREE to attend.

Leave a Mark, a gathering of the young church with Bishop Bambera to kickoff National Vocation Awareness Week in the Diocese of Scranton. The gathering consists of Mass in the Cathedral of Saint Peter at 5PM followed by an interactive reception in the Diocesan Pastoral Center. This is usually held the first Sunday in November. XLT: Eucharistic Adorationfor Vocations, the evening incudes a speaker, music, the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and a social. The Vocations Office hosts XLT on the first Thursday of every month at 7pm at St. Maria Goretti Parish in Laflin and on the last Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm at Christ the King Parish in Archbald. St. Matthew Parish in East Stroudsburg also hosts XLT on the fourth Sunday of every month at 7pm.
Get Up & Pray: A Holy Thursday Prayer Challenge, At the Last Supper, Christ instituted the Holy Priesthood and promised to remain with us forever in the Eucharist. Every year on Holy Thursday, the Diocese of Scranton celebrates these two great gifts and prays for vocations at Altars of Repose throughout our 11 counties, heeding the words of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane – “Get up and pray.”
As you journey to various altars of repose on Holy Thursday, we encourage you to visit @scrantonvoc’s Instagram Story to find the “Add Yours” sticker where you can share photos from your evening with us. Leading up to Holy Thursday night, we’ll be posting altar of repose schedules for participating parishes on our social media pages, so be sure to follow along and map out your journey!

World Day of Prayer for Vocations, an opportunity to pray for an increase in vocations to the Priesthood and Religious Life in our parishes and schools. A Diocesan Celebration is usually held with Bishop Bambera in one of the four Episcopal regions. May 11, 2025
